Patented CHP technology up for sale following appointment of administrators
Date of Press Release: 1|3|2010
Following the appointment of joint administrators, Neil Bennett and Michael Healy of Leonard Curtis, Disenco Ltd has been put up for sale by property and asset consultants, Edward Symmons with a view to sell within a week.
Disenco has developed and patented a revolutionary micro-CHP (Combined Heath and Power) appliance which is intended as a viable and cost and energy-saving alternative to conventional boilers for domestic and small business premises. The technology generates mechanical, electrical and thermal energy simultaneously, allowing it to recover much of the energy normally lost through separate power generation, and it has the potential to reduce users’ Carbon Footprints by between two and four tonnes.
Paul Proctor, Partner at Edward Symmons LLP comments: “This business really is one of the leading lights in the CHP technology development market. Agreements have been reached with a number of major utility companies for pilot testing while major distributor arrangements are also in place. As such, we would anticipate substantial industry interest in the sale of the business, its assets and, most significantly, its nine registered patents.”
A UK government report highlighted micro-CHP as the only such technological advance with the potential to allow users to break even in respect of its costs of purchase and installation within the forseeable future.
Paul Proctor adds: “This technology has been under development since the eighties and is now estimated to be only 12 months away from final field trials. The business entered into administration in February following years of substantial investment and as such it is hoped a purchaser will be found to conclude the final development stages to be able to bring the technology to market.”
Best offer bids are being sought by 4pm on Friday 5 March and interested parties should contact Bertie Foster-Ward at Edward Symmons on 020 7955 8454 or at bertie.foster-ward@edwardsymmons.com
